My hands can do this --- Go-School Zoe Pouch


Your child will love this nice, colorful pouch when she starts her nursery schooling.   The inside part of it provides sufficient space for putting in her single notebook, pad, pencil, crayons, and even her smallest toy .  With attractive-looking pouch and not too heavy to carry, your child will surely be more excited to attend to her school activities everyday. 



 

GO-SCHOOL ZOE POUCH
      
Materials
(1)  Caron Simply Soft, 4 ply, acrylic, 6 oz (dark sage) 
(1)  Caron Simply Soft, 4 ply, acrylic, 6 oz (orchid)
(1)  Caron Simply Soft, 4 ply, acrylic, 6 oz (sunshine yellow)
       crochet hook size -  F5 / 3.75 mm

Level of Difficulty – easy

Stitch Abbreviations:
(ch) – chain                                                  
(sc) – single crochet
(dc) – double crochet
(sl st) – slip stitch 

Instructions: 
Use sunshine yellow yarn first.  Make 48 (ch).  Always count the number of (ch), (dc), (7-dc), and (sc) in each round to avoid mistakes. 

Using Sunshine Yellow Yarn
1st Rnd
(Dc) in 4th (ch) from hook.  4 (dc) in same (ch).  Slip st in next 4th (ch).   [5 (dc) in next 4th (ch).   Slip st in next 4th (ch)]  4X.  5 (dc) in next 4th (ch).   Slip st in last 4th (ch).
Result:   6 (7-dc)

2nd Rnd
To make a circle, turn to other side.  7 (dc) in 1st  middle hole.   Hide extra yarn while crocheting.   Slip st in middle of 2 (7-dc).  This is the 1st yellow yarn circle.  [7 (dc) in  next middle hole.   Slip st in next middle of 2 (7-dc)]  4X.  7 (dc) in last middle hole.  Slip st in last (dc).  This is the 1st group of yellow yarn circle.  Extend yarn a little longer before cutting it.  Tie it once. Just leave the yarn hanging to serve as a marking for attachment.  Repeat making the group of circles from the 1st to 2nd Rnd 7X more.
Result:   6  (7-dc)  or   8 groups of yellow yarn circles

Connecting Another Yarn (Dark Sage)
1st Rnd
48 (ch).  2 (dc) in 4th (ch) from hook.  Have one  side of 1  group of yellow yarn circle ready to be attached.  From its yarn end of 1st yellow yarn circle, slip st in 3rd (dc) to attach it.  (Dc) in same (ch) of green yarn.  Slip st in next (dc) of  yellow yarn to attach it.  2 (dc) in same (ch) of green yarn.  Slip st in next 4th (ch) of green yarn.  [2 (dc) in next 4th (ch) of green yarn.  Slip st in 3rd (dc) of next yellow yarn circle to attach it.  (Dc) in same (ch) of green yarn.  Slip st in next (dc) of yellow yarn circle to attach it.  2 (dc) in same (ch) of green yarn.  Slip st in next 4th (ch) of green yarn]  4X.  2 (dc) in  next 4th (ch) of green yarn.  Slip st in 3rd (dc)  of last yellow yarn circle to attach it.  (Dc) in same (ch) of green yarn.  Slip st in next (dc) of yellow yarn circle to attach it.   2 (dc) in same (ch) of green yarn.  Slip st in last 4th (ch).
Result:   6 (7-dc)

To form a circle, turn to other side.  3 (dc) in middle hole of green yarn.   Hide extra yarn while crocheting.  Have 1 side of  2nd  group of yellow yarn circles ready to be attached.  From its yarn end of 1st yellow yarn circle, (slip st) in 3rd (dc) to attach it.  (Dc) in same middle hole of green yarn.  Slip st in next (dc) of yellow yarn to attach it.  3 (dc) in  same middle hole of green yarn.  Slip st in middle of 2 (7-dc) of green yarn.  This is the 1st green yarn circle.  [3 (dc) in next middle hole of green yarn.  Slip st in 3rd (dc) of next yellow yarn circle to attach it.  (Dc) in same middle hole of green yarn.  Slip st in next (dc) of  yellow yarn to attach it.  3 (dc) in same middle hole of green yarn.   Slip st in middle of 2 (7-dc) of green yarn to form a circle]  4X.  3 (dc) in last middle hole of green yarn.  Slip st in 3rd (dc) of last yellow yarn circle to attach it.  (Dc) in same middle hole of green yarn.  Slip st  in next (dc) of  yellow yarn to attach it.  3 (dc) in same middle hole of green yarn.   Slip st in last (dc).  This is the 1st group of green yarn circles.  Extend yarn a little longer before cutting it.  Tie it once.  Just leave the yarn hanging to serve as a marking for attachment.  Repeat making the group of circles and  attaching to both sides of the yellow yarn circles from the 1st  to 2nd Rnd 5X more.
Result:   6 (7-dc)   or  6 groups of green yarn circles



Inserting Another Yarn in the Middle of Circles (Orchid)
Cut purple yarn of bigger length than the size of the pouch.  Use hook in inserting the yarn end.  Insert it horizontally in the middle of each circles of yellow and green yarn.  Just leave it hanging.
Making the Side (Dark Sage)
1st to 112nd Rnd
14 (ch).  Insert hook in 2nd (ch), yarn over and pull the yarn.  (Sc) in next (12) (ch).  [Next round, (ch).  (Sc) in next 13 (sc)]  112X.
Result:   13 (sc) per round

Connecting Both Sides (Orchid)
[Have one group of attached yellow and green yarn circles.  With one side and from the extra yarn, attach the green side yarn.  Use purple yarn to attach the side.  Have both (dc) and (sc) in line together when inserting the hook in its holes.  (Sc) in next (dc) of 1st circle.  When reaching the middle of 2 circles, pull the extra yarn end lightly.  Tie both 2 yarns.  Keep also an extra yarn for this attachment on the other side.  2 (slip st) in  middle hole.  Hide extra yarn while crocheting.  (Sc) in next (dc) of next circle.  Repeat the steps until the end side.  Before attaching the other group,  continue making (sc) in the last part of its side]  2X.  Extend yarn a little longer before cutting it.  Tie it once.  Hide the extra yarns in the holes.

Cord Making (Dark Sage and Orchid)
Use green yarn first.  198 (ch).  (Dc) in 4th (ch) from hook.  (Dc) in next 194 (ch).  Extend yarn a little longer before cutting it.  Attach purple yarn.   Slip st in 4th (sc) of 1 pouch side.  Invert the cord.  (Sc) in next 4 (sc) to connect the 1st cord end.  Hide extra yarn while crocheting.  (Sc) in next 195 (dc).  Slip st in 4th  (sc) of  other  pouch side.  Invert the cord.  (Sc) in next 4 (sc) to connect the last cord end.  (Sc) in next 195 (dc).  Slip st in 4th (sc) of the last pouch side.  Extend yarn a little longer before cutting it.  Tie it once.  Hide extra yarn in the holes.
Result:   195 (dc) and 195 (sc) each side
